Dhoni's decision to settle for draw against Windies

I don't know why so much fuss is been made about Dhoni's decision to go for draw against Windies in the third and final cricket match against Windies. If Dhoni had gone for a win with aggressive batting and loose the test match, everyone would have criticized him for doing that. Now, when he didn't do that then also they are criticizing him. Forget about losing, even if we draw the match with 2 wickets or 3 wickets left, all the so called commentators and writers would criticize Dhoni much more.

Dhoni tried to win this match by promoting Raina, who is the man in form for India. After Raina fell cheaply, Dhoni has gone on defense. Anyone in Dhoni's place would do the same. Two quick wickets after Raina's departure would have left at India at the verge of defeat.

In entire Windies tour, how many times did both teams managed to score more than 5.5 runs in an over including one dayers. The only game where both the teams managed to score with 5.5 runs per over is 20-20 match. So how can you expect them to chase with a required run rate of 5.5 that to on the 5th day of a test match and add to that pitch is not conducive for batting.

Many writers, commentators and former players do agree that the pitch was not conducive for batting. I am not sure then how can they say that, Dhoni's decision to go defense is wrong. This is to just the attention of the media by criticizing Dhoni.

Everyone is trying to get famous by criticizing Dhoni and India.

When it comes to Sammy, why he didn't try to declare a few overs earlier and try for the win. If he had declared a few overs earlier, India would have definitely tried for win and thus Windies could have chance to win from the mistakes done by Indian batsmen. There is nothing Sammy would have lost by doing that, noting that they have lost one match in the series. If Windies had managed to win, then Sammy could have walked off with all the laurels by drawing the series. Even if he had lost the match, he could have been rewarded for brave decision for declaring.

Dhoni is the one of the best captains India had and his decision making has been excellent all the times.

From the last 2 years, I have been thinking of updating my blog frequently. But, some or the other way I couldn't do that. May be I am not that serious about this( you are thinking then why I am wasting your time, right. huh). Will check this time around!!!!!

There were many chages in my personal and professional life in the last one year.

First let me tell you about my personal life......... coz everyone will be more interested to know about personal life of others (including me).

My sis, who is younger to me, got married on Oct 29th 2009. I think this is one of the most memorable moments for my parents.

As I had quit my job in the month of Nov, after long time I got some free time to enjoy and live life as I did in college days. December 2009 and January to April 2010 will be the most memorable times in my life for the all the good and bad things I have gone through.

Those were the major things in my personal life.

Hmmmm...... it was not much exciting and there was no masala, right. I can't help it. If you think, I am one of the most boring guy in the world, then maybe I am.

When it comes to my professional life, there were some drastic changes. Some of which, i couldn't even thought about them a while ago.

As I said earlier, I left my job in Nov-09. I got stuck at that job for 3 years. This is something, which was on the cards for the last one year. I learnt a lot over there in my 3 years tenure. I got good experience in all aspects of management in 3 years. I had some issues with the way some things are handled out there and had "TRUST" issues, so I left the job. Anyhow, I don't regret for leaving that job.

Then I joined another company, there I worked for 3 months. Then i had moved to the currnt one.

When I look back at the things what happened over the last one year, as far as my career is concerned, it is going on nicely and I strongly feel I am on the right track. I had tough time, when I was idle for 3 months. But everything ended well.

Thats all for now. I will try my level best to keep blogging.

Hyderabad Deccan Chargers win IPL 2009

Wow! What a match it was. From the first ball of the match to last ball of the match, the match was swinging in both the ways. Through out the second innings it looked like any one can win the match. But at the end Hyderabad Deccan Chargers won the close match. Gilchrist was awesome in changing the bowlers. Andrew Symonds over turned the match towards Hyderabad Deccan Chargers. He took 2 wickets in 2 balls and those 2 were crucial wickets, one was the dangerous Ross Taylor and the other was Virat Kohli. Gilchrist has done a good job in taking off the stumps when Virat Kohli was trying to come off the crease.

Hyderabad Deccan Chargers was the last team in the last year IPL. This time they are the champions. Great Job.

Last year IPL final was one sided match. But this time around it was a very close match. I thoroughly enjoyed the match. Gilchrist is wearing a T, which says Deccan Chargers IPL 2009 Champion. The closing ceremony has started, Lalit Modi is taking the center stage now.

Coming to the match Kumble has bowled very well in the first innings. After the first innings I thought 144 is a fighting score and we can win the match if we can get some wickets quickly.

The closing ceremony is live one SET MAX. The ground is darker now and there are some candles or lamps flying in the air which is making it look good.

Its already midnight, I need to go to bed as I need to catch up with my work tomorrow. My regular routine starts again from tomorrow. Catch up with you again soon.

IPL T20 final Hyderabad Vs Bangalore

Ha ha! It is final now, Deccan Chargers and Royal challengers are in the final of IPL T20. No one would have thought that, these two teams will be playing in the final. In case of Royal Challengers, I think they lost 4 out of their first 5 matches, so its hard to even think that they will reach the semi final. But they ended up being in the final. They have own 10 matches in the lost 12 matches they have played and they have own 6 matches on the throat to reach the final( this is what commentators were saying lost night, if wrong please correct me). 

The final will be an equally contested match. With Gilly and Rohit with suerb touch with the bat and Andrew Symonds, Thirumalshetty Suman and Gibbs are there to support them. Bowling department is also looking fine with RP Singh, Pragyan Ojha and Rohith Sharma being in good touch. With the knd of destructive batting form he is in, Gilly can change the context of the game if he stays at the crease for 8-10 overs, the match will turn in favor of the Hyderabad Deccan Chargers. 

On the other hand Bangalore Royal Challengers have momentum with them. They have won the lost 3 matches pretty convincingly. Manish Pandey and Ross Taylor in stupendous form, they can change the context of the game in short time.  They have Kumble and Praveen in bowling department.

It will be an interesting match to watch and apart from that I heard that some bollywood stars(I heard Katrina Kaif is performing) are performing in the IPL final ceremony.  It will be fun to watch it

Being a Hyderabadi, I wish Deccan Chargers win IPL this year. I wish all the best to both the teams Hyderabad Deccan Chargers and Bangalore Royal Challengers.

IPL T20 Reaching towards climax

As I said in my previous post that I will try my level best to blog regularly, I am doing so. Yesterday I was trying to post a new one on my thoughts about Deccan Chargers being in the final, but before I finish my write up, Deccan Chargers ended up being in final, so it didn't made sense for me to post that. Now I am trying my level best to make sure atleast before next match starts I should finish this up.

This year IPL is been full of twists. Seriously no one would have expected that Bangalore royal Challengers and Hyderabad Deccan Chargers will end up in being in semi finals and Deccan Chargers are through to the finals by the time you read this. Deccan Chargers were down at the bottom in last year table, this year around they will be wither at the top or second. I wish they will end up being on the top. Last year Deccan Chargers were the first team to be out of the IPL and this year this they are the first team to reach final.For the past one week I was telling all my friends that I would like to see Deccan Chargers and Royal Challengers playing final and every one used to laugh at me saying it isimpossible. Now it seems to be the very much possible impossible.

From the beginning of the IPL, Deccan Chargers looked determined to do better this time around. Many players were successful in this years IPL. Gilchrist had done a fabulous

job with the bat and also in terms of leading the team. Gibbs Rohit Sharma and Suman have done a good job wih the batting.  R P Singh and Pragynan Ojha have done a good job with the ball. Rohit Sharma has done a decent job in bowling department also. We need one more good fast bowler to support R P Singh. Fidel Edwards was doing well, but he left in the middle of the IPL. Yesterday Ryan Harris has done a good job though. Rohi Sharma, R P Singh and Gilchrist are the best in Decccan Chargers for this year IPL. They have done a fabulous job.

Last year Deccan Chargers lost couple of matches very closely in the first few matches. That had a demoralizing effect on the team and they were never able to recover from that again. One match they lost after scoring more than 200 and one match they lost it in the last over where Shane Warne had hit one or two sixes in the last over to win the match. This year, same is the case with Knight Riders. Do you remember the super over match apart from this they had good amount ofinternal conflicts though, thanks to Buchanan.

Fortunes started changing for Royal Challengers as soon as Kumble became the captain for the team. No one could have dared to think that Royal Challengers will end up in the semi final after their first 5 matches. I have deep respect for Kumble as a captain and for his commitment towards the game. I still remember Kumble coming out to bowl with a broken jaw on the

 final day in the test match against West Indies. People doubt his capabilities as a captain, but he really handled the things very well during the infamous Sydney test match in our last Australia tour. And to add to that we also went onto win the next test match against Aussies. It’s not easy to achieve some thing like that after such a huge controversy, the team needs a good leader to reunite and put up a strong performance and win the next match. But because of the controversies that surrounded the series Kumble's role in the success in the tour went unnoticed. Personally I feel Kumble has done a very good job during the series. Ross Taylor and Jacques Kallis are playing a crucial role in batting department and Praveen Kumar and Kumble really doing a good job as far as bowling is concerned. Praveen Kumar has the ability to swing the ball in both the ways. I am not sure why he is not picked for one day team.

Today will be the semi final between Chennai Super Kings and Bangalore Royal Challengers. Bangalore Royal Challengers have the momentum with them, they have the lost 3 matches pretty convincingly. If Ross Taylor fires up and if Dravid or allis supports him then the chances of Royal chllengers winning will be more. Hayden wicket will be crucial for them. But Chennai Super Kings is one of the best teams in the IPL and they have Dhoni as captain and Hayden, Muralitharan, Mike Hussey and Ntini to support him. I am expecting Ntini to play today as it will be a great advantage for them as he is from South Africa and can understand the ground conditions well.

As I said previously, I would like to see Bangalore Royal Challengers and Hyderabad Deccan Chargers playing the final and Deccan Chargers winning the final. If this happens, lost year these are the teams which were at the bottom of the points table and this time are on the top of it. This will make IPL very interesting next year.
